Prof. Sir Shakeel Qureshi

Professor Sir Qureshi is a Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist at Evelina London Children’s Hospital, Guy’s & St Thomas Trust, since March 1988. His main interest is interventional procedures in congenital heart disease in children and adults.

He has been involved in VenusP-Valve implantation from early on in its development. He performed the first VenusP-Valve implant case outside China in Bangkok in October 2013. He also performed the first VenusP-Valve case in Europe at Evelina London Children’s Hospital in July 2014 on compassionate use basis. He performed the first VenusP-Valve case in CE study at Evelina in Aug 2016.

Dr Matthew Jones

Consultant Cardiologist, Evelina London Children’s Hospital & St Thomas’ Hospital

Dr Matthew Jones is a consultant paediatric and adult congenital cardiologist at Evelina London Children’s Hospital & St Thomas’ Hospital in London. Matthew has experience of implanting Venus-P Valves since 2017 and has implanted over 100 VenusP-Valves since that time. Matthew was a site investigator for the VenusP-Valve CE study and is part of the European proctoring programme for Venus MedTech. He regularly proctors and mentors interventional cardiologists around Europe in how to implant VenusP-Valves as well as lecturing at international conferences on valve implantation techniques.

Dr Jamie Bentham

Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist at Leeds Hospital

Dr Jamie Bentham is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist caring for adults and children with congenital heart disease. He trained in medicine at the University of Oxford where he also completed his doctoral research in cardiovascular genetics. He has worked at many heart centres including Liverpool, Oxford and Great Ormond Street before moving to complete an intervention fellowship in Leeds and Boston Children’s, USA. Jamie took up a consultant post in intervention cardiology in Leeds in 2014 where he is an associate professor and lead for the cardiac catheter program. Jamie continues to contribute to outcome research nationally and internationally where he has published extensively. Jamie also leads the high-risk neonatal program for single ventricle patients at Leeds teaching Hospitals NHS trust.

Dr Phuoc Duong

Dr Duong is working as a Paediatric Cardiologist at Alder Hey hospital in Liverpool. His speciality is in Cardiac Imaging after completing a clinical research fellow in Cardiac MRI. Dr Duong has shared his knowledge and expertise in Pulmonary valve morphology, and has reviewed countless VenusP-Valve candidates for PPVI.

Hitesh Tailor

Hitesh has been with BVM Medical for +30 years, building relationships with cardiologists, nurses, and wider healthcare professionals. With his passion being in paediatric interventional cardiology, he is the expert of this field when it comes to product knowledge. He brings great experience having worked with KOL’s in bringing to the market devices such as Amplatzer Occluders, Bonhoeffer Pulmonary Valve (now Melody) and the CP Stent working closely with the MHRA. His work has been instrumental with the VenusP-Valve right from the beginning in the UK and during the CE Study.

Krista Venables

Krista is a Clinical Product Specialist working at BVM Medical. Her background has been in Medical Information predominantly Pharmacovigilance, but now specialises in congenital heart disease. She qualified to load the VenusP-Valve in January 2023, and has since enjoyed travelling the country to be on hand to assist hospitals implanting the VenusP-Valve.
